New Hampshire Free Death Records

• New Hampshire is a "closed record state," which means you must have "direct and tangible interest" in the record.
• Birth records prior to 1909, and deaths, marriages and divorce records prior to 1959 are considered to have unrestricted access.
  
• If you do have "direct and tangible interest" in the record, you can download the Death Certificate Application from the New Hampshire Department of State.
• Complete the above application and mail it, along with any applicable fee, and a copy of your government issued photo identification, to:
